Lead Balance of Plant Engineer

The vital Lead Mechanical Engineer role comes with a basic salary of £58,100 – £87,100 + a performance related bonus + other excellent benefits.

Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Delivering effective outage strategies and management of projects
• Optimising the planned maintenance strategy to meet stakeholders needs to maximise plant reliability and minimise downtime
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to other departments in relation to Balance of Plant (BoP) with a focus on maximising efficiency, plant performance and safety
• Provide technical governance, guidance and industry best practice including compliance with PSST and statutory inspections
• Budget ownership and contract management of strategic suppliers and management of mechanical contract partners

We are looking for someone with the following:

• Ideally a Degree in a Mechanical Engineering discipline however, would consider those with a HND/HNC/NVQ Level 3, etc.
• A formal Health and Safety qualification such as IOSH will be advantageous but not a necessity

The Lead Mechanical Engineer role would suit someone who has:

• Prior Mechanical Engineering experience working in heavy process engineering environments such as Power Stations, Paper Mills, Top Tier COMAH sites, Refineries, Petrochemicals, etc.
• Experience working with Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG) would be advantageous
• Knowledge of Pressure Systems Safety Regulations (PSSR) will be advantageous
• Demonstrate the ability to successful manage teams
