Since its launch three years ago, Sunne Energy has experienced rapid growth:
- Year 1 revenue: £500,000
- Year 2 revenue: £1 million
- Year 3 projected revenue: £5 million
A standout project includes a multi-site installation for Shurgard Self Storage, covering 36 existing sites and three new builds. Sunne Energy now manages an operations and maintenance (O&M) contract for 106 UK sites and purchases and supplies energy for this client, completing the full Sunne ecosystem.
Sunne Energy focuses on multi-site commercial clients, often starting with remedial works, progressing to new installations, and adding services like O&M, EV charging, and energy management.

What Does the Head of O&M Role Involve?
The Head of Operations & Maintenance (O&M) is a critical leadership role responsible for managing and growing Sunne Energy’s O&M portfolio. While new solar installations are the main revenue driver, long-term client retention is equally important.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing the existing O&M portfolio and optimising operations
- Expanding revenue from services like EV charging, battery installations, and energy management
- Overseeing multiple subcontractors and project workstreams
- Driving strategic improvements and contributing to business growth
Currently, the O&M business is forecast to generate around £500,000 in revenue this year and we view this area of the business as having significant potential for expansion.
What Skills and Experience Are Required?
The ideal candidate for the Head of O&M role will have:
- Technical understanding of commercial and industrial solar PV installations
- Strong problem-solving and coordination skills to manage multiple projects and subcontractors
- Strategic vision and commercial awareness to grow the O&M business
- Experience in client relationship management and renewable energy operations
Location: South East / West London area, with travel to client sites. The role combines office-based planning with site visits.
Qualifications: Relevant experience is more important than formal academic qualifications.
