Incentive trips

A Look Back at Astute’s Unforgettable Incentive Trips and Experiences Overseas

There are loads of reasons people stick with recruitment, and it isn’t just the targets.

It’s the shared moments, the stories you end up telling for years, and the trips that remind you why pushing together as a team is worth it.

Every year, Astute celebrates the people who go above and beyond with incentive trips that are genuinely memorable. Here’s a quick flashback to three of our recent overseas trips.

2025 – Switzerland, Interlaken, Jungfraujoch, and a canyoning day we won’t forget

If you’ve never been to Switzerland, it’s hard to explain how it feels when you see the mountains properly.

Everything looks surreal.

We stayed in Interlaken, which is basically adventure headquarters. You wake up, open the curtains, and instantly feel like you should be doing something that makes your stomach flip.

Jungfraujoch, the “Top of Europe”

One of the headline moments was taking the train up to Jungfraujoch.

The journey’s part of the experience, watching the views change as you climb higher and higher, then stepping out into air that feels completely different.

Up there, the team did their sightseeing, took the photos that destroy your phone storage, and spent time in the snow park. There’s something brilliant about a group of grown adults acting like kids the moment there’s snow underfoot.

Canyoning

If Jungfraujoch was the calm, cinematic side of Switzerland, canyoning was the complete opposite.

It was proper adrenaline.

Ice cold water, tight canyon walls, abseiling down a rock face, swinging from ropes, and doing the kind of things you definitely wouldn’t volunteer for on a normal weekend.

It was also the best kind of team bonding, because you can’t do it without each other. Someone’s always encouraging the next person, laughing through the nerves, and celebrating every “I can’t believe I just did that” moment.

2024 – Dubrovnik, sun, sea, and switching off properly

In 2024, the team headed to Dubrovnik.

Different vibe to Switzerland, but just as memorable.

It’s the kind of place that makes it easy to slow down, reset, and enjoy being off the clock together, proper views, proper weather, and plenty of time to explore.

The team stayed in Lapad, just outside the centre, with stunning views across the sea and the surrounding islands.

The first day set the pace with some pool time, relaxing time and then dinner at Peppers Eatery for small plates and cocktails, which ended up being the top food spot of the trip.

The next day, they took the bus into the city and wandered through the old town, ice-creams in hand, before finding a bar built into the city walls and rocks. That became the favourite photo spot for everyone.

Afterwards, they walked the city walls, stopping for drinks on the way round, with views that didn’t feel real. Half the group ended up in an Irish bar watching football, the other half went off for a quieter dinner.

On the final day, they walked the coastline, stopped for coffees, and headed back to the hotel for lunch. Most of the team found a rocky stretch of coast and spent the afternoon jumping into the sea. That evening, they went back into the old town for drinks at another bar tucked into the walls and rocks, followed by a sunset cocktail cruise, and a steak dinner to finish it off.

Why we do these trips

Incentive trips aren’t just about the destination. They’re a reminder that performance gets recognised, and that hitting targets can unlock experiences you wouldn’t normally go for.

If you like working hard, want progression, and want a culture where achievements get celebrated properly, Astute might be the right place for you.
