Structural Engineer

Astute’s Nuclear team is partnering with an international company that operates across highly regulated sectors including Nuclear and has a strong presence and history of delivery at nuclear sites in the UK and internationally. They are looking for a Structural Engineer to provide hands-on analysis and design within the C&S department.
 
This integral position comes with a salary of up to £65,000 depending on experience and the chance to work on a hybrid basis.

Responsibilities and duties

As the Structural Engineer you will:

• Prepare design documentation throughout the design process
• Develop designs to satisfy technical specifications
• Prepare supporting design calculations to substantiate design
• Contribute to design reviews
• Prepare of technical specifications
• Prepare risk assessments, technical files and other technical documentation required by safety legislation and procedures
• Any other duties as required

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

• A recognised Engineering Certificate such as HNC / HND / Degree
• Knowledge of the fundamentals of structures and foundations using Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel
• Design experience in Reinforced Concrete and Structural Steel
• Knowledge and understanding of Structural steel connections and connection types
• Demonstrable competence gained in a design delivery position

Personal skills

The Structural Engineer role would suit someone who is:

• Strong team player
• Ability to work to tight deadlines
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel
• Ability to obtain security clearance
