Site Supervisor – Cable Jointing

Astute’s Renewables team is partnered with an electric vehicle (EV) charge point installer and independent connection provider (ICP) who have a large order book and diverse client base across the UK. We’re looking to recruit a Site Supervisor to help cover the Glasgow area.

The Site Supervisor role comes with a salary of up to £48,000 and an excellent further package, including a vehicle.

Responsibilities and duties
•    Take initiative in reporting site progress.
•    Propose improvements for any processes.
•    Maintain frequent communication with project stakeholders.
•    Ensure that site operatives comply with health and safety regulations.
•    Take ownership and responsibility for efficient and effective manpower planning.
•    Lead by example, conducting all business interactions in accordance with company processes.
•    Monitor the site to ensure efficiency and productivity within agreed timelines.
•    Manage operatives and subcontractors, performing Quality of Works and Health & Safety (H&S) audits.
•    Coordinate with key stakeholders, personnel, and local authorities; participate in all relevant meetings.
•    Conduct surveys and provide weekly feedback to management.
•    Attend weekly and monthly progress meetings with the Project Manager.
•    Support the Project Manager in achieving KPIs.
•    Contribute to cost control initiatives within the department.
•    Notify the Project Manager of any necessary project variations.
•    Determine material requirements for projects and business activities.
•    Assist in selecting subcontractor quotations alongside the Project Manager/Commercial team.
•    Ensure all personnel are inducted before commencing onsite work.
•    Ensure the completion of Operatives’ Daily Risk Assessments when onsite.
 
 
Professional qualifications 
 
We are looking for someone with the following: 
•    Full UK driving licence
•    Minimum of 3 years’ experience as a Cable Jointer or Civil Engineer. 
•    Relevant certifications in cable jointing, safety management, or project management are preferred.
•    SSSTS or SMSTS is desirable.
 
 
Personal skills 
 
The Site Supervisor role would suit someone who is/has: 
 
•    Previous experience as a supervisor or a team leader, but not essential. 
•    Excellent communication skills with both internal and external stakeholders.
•    Good PC skills (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
•    Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
•    Good health and safety knowledge and practices.
 
 
Salary and benefits of the Site Supervisor role 
 
•    Starting salary of £45,000-£48,000 with OTE of up to £50,000 – £55,000
