Site Manager
Astute’s Renewables Team are currently recruiting a Site Manager to support the delivery of a Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) project based in the Central Belt of Scotland. This is an immediate start contract expected to run for 8-12 weeks, with potential for future projects to follow.
The day rate for the Site Manager is up to £500.00 per day.
Role responsibilities and key skills for the Site Manager role:
- Oversee day-to-day site operations on a high-profile BESS installation
- Manage subcontractors and direct labour, ensuring safety and quality compliance
- Coordinate and report on project progress with the client and internal teams
- Take the lead on electrical elements of the build – strong electrical bias essential
- Ensure all works are delivered in line with relevant HSEQ and industry standards
- Maintain daily site records, RAMS, and health & safety documentation
- Ensure adherence to programme, managing site logistics and resource planning
- Contribute to commissioning preparation and project handover
- Act as point of contact for all on-site activities
Requirements:
- Previous experience as a Site Manager on BESS projects (essential)
- Strong electrical background and understanding of grid-scale systems (essential)
- SMSTS, SSSTS or equivalent site safety certification preferred
- Right to work in the UK – no sponsorship available
- Full UK driving licence

- Start Date: Immediate
- Contract Length: 8-12 weeks initially, with potential extension
