Responsibilities and duties Reporting to the Technical Director and Nuclear Director you will:
- Lead and motivate a multidisciplinary design and development team, driving the successful delivery of key projects for the development of products and processes to be installed across a number of critical customer sites.
- Work in close collaboration with engineering, production, and site teams, ensuring seamless project execution, from concept through to final installation and commissioning.
- Work with key stakeholders to define the project scope, looking at key objectives and deliverables to develop comprehensive project plans, schedules, and resource allocations to meet deadlines and budgetary requirements.
- Oversee the design, development, and implementation phases, ensuring all products and processes meet safety-critical standards.
- Ensure the successful installation and commissioning of systems on-site, following all necessary safety protocols.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress.
- Manage client relationships, leading discussions on design adjustments, scope changes, and any issues that arise during project execution.
- Oversee the preparation of documentation for regulatory approvals, safety audits, and certifications, ensuring adherence to industry-specific regulations (e.g., HSE, ISO standards).
- Other duties as required.

Professional qualifications & skills We are looking for someone with the following:
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Design, Project Management, or a related field
- Project management certifications such as PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent are advantageous.
- 5+ years of project management experience, ideally within design and development for safety-critical industries (e.g., oil & gas, nuclear, aerospace, rail, or similar sectors).
- Demonstrated experience managing the full lifecycle of complex projects from design through to on-site installation.
- Thorough knowledge of safety regulations, standards, and best practices relevant to safety-critical industries.
