Astute’s Power team is exclusively partnering with a leading energy provider to recruit a Plant Operator to work at their Energy from Waste facility in Gloucester.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Shift Team Leader, you will:

Perform operational duties on the main boiler, FGT plant and turbine using DCS.
Carry out routine testing of plant equipment and inspections when required, recording data accurately and efficiently.
Monitor performance of plant and ensure optimal performance.
Monitor security systems and CCTV on site.
Provide clear and comprehensive shift handovers.
Undergo training and development competence in line with on site safety rules.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

Similar operational experience in Energy from Waste or other power sector.
Experience with SCADA as a minimum, DCS highly sought after.
Royal Navy/Marine Engineer applications welcome.
Level 3 in relevant engineering subject as a minimum.
Computer literate.

Is able to work a shift pattern.
Responds to high pressure situations in a calm and logical way.
Is adaptable and flexible.

Shift rotation with 12 consecutive rest days.
