Astutes Power Team are working with an Energy from Waste plant located in Kent, South East England. They are looking for a Production Manager / Deputy Operations Manager to support with the day to day running of the operational aspects of the plant.

As Production Manager you’ll be responsible for increasing performance & efficiencies, supporting compliance and ensuring the plant is operated in line with operating procedures.

Responsibilities and duties:
As the Production Manager you will be:

  • Operating the plant in a safe & efficient manner inline with standard operating procedures & company processes.
  • Supporting with the day to day management of the Operation / Production team.
  • Managing and maintenance the sites Safety Rules including management of contractors.
  • Able to identify operational & efficiency gains to maximise plant performance & availability.
  • Coordinating daily activities across departments.
  • Developing & maintaining operational procedures, safety documentation and risk assessments.
  • Able to stand in as and when required for Shift Managers or Department Head.
  • Implementing budget & operational strategies.
  • Assisting in plant shutdowns and outages
  • Ensuring all work is carried out in line with company health and safety policies and procedures
 
 
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

  • A relevant technical qualification such as an HNC/ONC in engineering
  • Ideally an IOSH or NEBOSH or Health & Safety Qualification
  • Trained in a recognised apprenticeship scheme
  • High Voltage SAP experience
 
 
Personal skills
The Production Manager role would suit someone who has:

  • At least five years’ experience in a supervisory position, in a heavy process environment/sector (e.g. power station, chemical plant, paper mill, refinery, steel works etc)
  • Experience with line management & leadership duties
  • Proven SAP experience
  • Experience with Safety Rules, LOTO, Permit to Work, Isolations etc
