- Carry out pre-planned and reactive maintenance on a range of mechanical equipment, including but not limited to, motors, pumps, gearboxes, conveyors, bearings, valves, boilers, compressors, fans etc.
- Undertake measures to improve the plant reliability, efficiency and performance of the plant, always in a safe and efficient manner.
- Carry out reliability techniques including laser alignment, vibration analysis and oil sampling.
- Be competent to receive / authorise permits as required.
- During maintenance periods, undertake testing and commissioning of plant to prepare for operational periods.
- Maintain the site CMMS to record the maintenance activities undertaken.
- Supervise 3rd party subcontractors on maintenance activities.
| | | Professional qualifications We are looking for someone with the following:
- Time served apprentice with a NVQ Level 3 / HNC in Mechanical Engineering
- Experience working in a heavy industrial environment, ideally from a power station background or with experience on large rotating plant.
- Happy to work a day-shift rota with occasional night / weekend cover
