Astute’s Renewables Team is proudly partnering with an ambitious, motivated and growing business in the UK’s Solar sector. They’re a dynamic, forward-thinking and proactive business who have strategic and realistic plans to make significant waves in the UK’s commercial and industrial solar space. Together we are recruiting for a Lead Solar Electrician to work in the Swindon/ Oxford location.

The Lead Solar Electrician role comes with a salary up to £52,000 (DOE), plus company benefits, travel expenses and ongoing development.

Responsibilities and duties

As the Lead Solar Electrician you will:

Leading and supervising on commercial electrical installs.
Leading and managing the team daily, to ensure premium delivery to the client.
Coordinating with the mechanical tam to ensure perfect cable management and penetration sealing.
Mentoring junior members of the team to upskill them and support development.
Ensure highest standard of health and safety practices across site activities.
Installing systems from a size of 20kw up to 1MW.
Wiring, testing and completing the systems.
Direct client interface when on site, if required.
Occasional travelling outside of area for business needs, spending up to a week at a time if necessary (with nightly allowances if this is the case).
Other duties as required.

Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

Level 3 qualified in electrical installation or equivalent + AM2.
Valid test and inspection certification (2391 or equivalent).
ECS Gold card (essential).
SMSTS/ SSSTS is advantageous.
A relevant solar PV qualification desirable.

Personal skills

The Lead Solar Installer role would suit someone who is:

UK Driving license is essential.
Flexible to travel and stay away from area when required.
Technically minded with strong attention to detail.

Salary and benefits of the Lead Solar Installer role

Salary between £45,000 – £52,000 (DOE).
Monday – Friday.
Shared company vehicle + travel paid.
Overnight allowances if staying away.
CSCS/ SSSTS + other courses and training offered, and costs covered.
25 days holiday, plus bank holidays.
Company benefits to be discussed.
