Astute’s Renewables team is working exclusively with a leading developer in the Renewable Energy sector, committed to driving the energy transition through sustainable development and responsible land use. We’re seeking a Land Acquisition Manager to support their growing portfolio of renewable projects across Wind, Solar and Battery Storage.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced land professional to play a key role in enabling the delivery of vital renewable infrastructure. The role offers a salary of up to £75,000.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Head of Land you will:

  • Identifying and evaluating new land opportunities for onshore wind development
  • Engaging and negotiating with landowners and agents to secure land rights (option & lease agreements)
  • Collaborating with planning, grid, and development teams to drive project feasibility
  • Building trusted, long-term relationships with landowners, stakeholders, and local authorities
  • Presenting sites to the senior team and investment committee for approval
  • Supporting land strategy across the full development lifecycle
Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • At least 5 years of experience in a land acquisition role ideally within the Renewables sector.
  • Demonstrated success in generating leads and securing land rights and developing strong relationships with landowners and stakeholders
  • Solid understanding of UK planning policy and its influence on renewable energy development
  • Knowledge of distribution and transmission networks and their role in energy projects
  • Exceptional interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders effectively
  • Self-motivated, organised, and capable of working independently to meet targets and deadlines
  • The ideal candidate would also hold an MRICS accreditation
