Reporting to the Environment, Health and Safety Manager, you will be responsible for:

• Review and modify existing policies and procedures to align with client requirements and ensure compliance with UK Health & Safety Legislation.
• Assist in the creation and maintenance of policies and procedures to meet various regulatory obligations.
• Track adherence to current policies and procedures, reporting any non-compliance and recommending corrective actions.
• Conduct routine site visits to perform audits and facility inspections.
• Develop training materials and deliver sessions for relevant employees.
• Support site teams in drafting risk assessments and safe work procedures.
• Investigate incidents and significant near misses, analyse accident trends, and propose proactive strategies for improvement.
• Assist with onboarding new employees by addressing necessary training requirements.
• Offer guidance and support on all health and safety matters within the organization.
• Communicate with regulatory authorities when necessary to resolve compliance concerns.
• Maintain and fulfil internal and external reporting obligations.
• Conduct risk management via thorough risk assessments
• Deputise for the EHS manager during times of absence

We are looking for someone with the following:

• A formal health and safety qualification such as IOSH or NEBOSH is a necessity
• A full UK driving licence is a necessity given this is a travelling role

The Health and Safety Officer role would suit somebody who has:

• Significant Health and Safety experience in a heavy process engineering environment (Power, Renewables, Paper Mills, Pharmaceutical, FMGC, COMAH sites, etc)
• A good understanding of legislative requirements relating to health and safety
• Experience liaising with the HSE will be advantageous
• A flexible working approach as the role will involve travel between sites
