Geotechnical Engineer - Anchor Solutions
Astute’s Renewables team is partnering with a dynamic FTSE250 renewable energy provider, committed to professional development and sustainability, to recruit a Geotechnical Engineer – Anchor Solutions for its Aberdeen site. The right candidate will contribute to the development of anchor products and services through geotechnical analysis, research & development, and consultancy services.
The Geotechnical Engineer – Anchor Solutions role comes with a salary up to £60,000 depending on experience, excellent pension benefits, and flexible working arrangements.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, you will:
- Support product research and development from concept to market, including the development of analytical techniques, geotechnical lab testing, and detailed engineering activities.
- Support fabrication and full-scale testing of completed products.
- Perform geotechnical assessments and structural analysis as applicable within the discipline.
- Conduct calculations for specifying the type and size of drag embedment and vertical load anchors.
- Liaise with the drawing department for the preparation of design drawings.
- Prepare cost estimates and technical proposals in response to client inquiries.
- Provide technical support and advice related to the design, installation, and operations of anchoring systems.
- Keep abreast of the latest developments in industry codes and standards on mooring systems design.
Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:
- Degree (2.1) in a relevant Engineering discipline (Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a similar field).
- Minimum 5 years of experience in the offshore energy industry.
- Practical knowledge of geotechnical data assessment, structural analysis, and design for offshore/subsea structures.
- Competent user of engineering software packages such as PLAXIS, DIGIN, LPILE, ANSYS, and CAD software.
- Proficiency in writing technical reports and presentations, with strong communication skills.
