Electrical/Solar Site Surveyor (North England)

They’re a dynamic, forward-thinking and proactive business who have strategic and realistic plans to make significant waves in the UK’s commercial and industrial solar space.  

This Commercial Electrical/Solar Site Surveyor (South England) role comes with a starting salary of circa £45,000-£55,000 DOE, plus a company van, expenses d and ongoing development.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Electrical Manager you will:

• Identify and report any defects or issues that could affect the performance of the proposed PV system. 

• Perform in-depth assessments of electrical systems to determine their compatibility with solar PV installations. 

• Document all survey findings thoroughly to ensure accurate records and clear communication. 

• Develop detailed electrical bills of quantities and scopes of work based on survey results. 

• Work closely with the technical team to efficiently coordinate survey tasks and prioritize project assignments. 

• Demonstrate strong time management by effectively planning and executing survey schedules with a high degree of self-motivation. 

• Compile survey data and images into professional, comprehensive reports using advanced IT skills. 

• Be prepared to travel extensively to project sites across the UK as needed. 

Professional qualifications 

We are looking for someone with the following:

• AM2 qualification 

• 18th Edition certification 

• NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Installation 

• Level 3 Testing and Inspection qualification (2394/2395 or 2391) 

• Level 4 Design and Verification certification (2396) – Preferred 

• Solar PV qualification – Preferred  

Personal skills

The Electrical/Solar Site Surveyor role would suit someone who is:

• Proven experience in identifying and evaluating defects or issues in solar PV installations. 

• Deep understanding of electrical systems, installations, and applicable regulations. 

• Highly self-motivated with exceptional organizational abilities, capable of independently planning and managing survey schedules. 

• Knowledge of solar installation practices, especially in commercial environments, is a plus. 

• Strong IT skills, with the ability to compile and present detailed reports from survey data and images. 

• Excellent communication skills, with a strong ability to work collaboratively with team members and clients. 

• Ideal for a seasoned electrician seeking to transition from hands-on work to a design-focused role.
