Electrical/Electronic Service Engineer

Astute’s nuclear team is retained by a leading radiometric protection provider who are looking for Service Engineer to work on site at Sellafield in Cumbria.
The Service Engineer role comes with a salary of up to £45,000 per annum. As a Service Engineer, you will oversee the execution of planned maintenance, repairs, and installations of advanced instrumentation at Sellafield.

Responsibilities and duties
Reporting to the Technical Specialist you will:

• Handle and install a variety of instruments, including Waste Monitors, Contamination Monitors, Vehicle Monitors, Area Gamma Alarms, and Counting Systems.
• Perform both reactive and preventative maintenance to keep everything in top condition.
• Align your work with the company’s goals, ensuring timely completion of all tasks while exceeding customer expectations.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships by resolving issues quickly and professionally.
• Follow all safety guidelines from the company’s safety manual and customer safety documents.
• Maintain a safe work environment and report any safety issues promptly.

Professional qualifications
We are looking for someone with the following:

• Electrical or Electronic qualification or relevant experience.

• Full UK Driving Licence.
• UK National capable of obtaining SC Clearance.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
• Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and SharePoint.

Personal skills
The Service Engineer role would suit someone who has:

• Background in service and support
• Nuclear experience is desirable
