Astute’s EPC Power team is partnering with a leading Client within the UK Power Industry to recruit a Commercial Manager on an initial 6 months basis for their new build Waste to Energy facility in the Teesside area.
The Commercial Manager comes with a day from £500.00 to £600.00 per day.

Key skills and responsibilities:

Lead and manage negotiations for commercial contracts with clients, suppliers, and partners, ensuring compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Develop and oversee financial models, budgets, and forecasts for energy projects, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and profitability targets.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders, including senior executives, government bodies, regulatory authorities, and third-party contractors.
Monitor and assess market trends, regulatory changes, and competitor activities to identify potential risks and growth opportunities in the energy market.
Provide commercial input into the planning, execution, and delivery of the energy from waste project, ensuring timely and cost-effective outcomes.
Identify and mitigate commercial risks related to this project, contracts, and market conditions, ensuring risk strategies are in place.
Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards (e.g., environmental regulations, safety standards, etc.) in all commercial activities.
Prepare and present detailed reports on commercial performance, financial status, and key business metrics to senior management and stakeholders.
Oversee the full contract lifecycle, from inception to completion, ensuring all obligations are met and delivering value to the organization.
Work closely with technical, legal, and operations teams to support successful project execution, ensuring commercial and technical alignment.
Identify cost-saving opportunities, optimize procurement strategies, and drive efficiencies across energy project budgets and contracts.
Degree in Business, Finance, Engineering, or related field.
Extensive experience in commercial management within the energy or utilities sector.
Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Hold a degree in Construction Law (Essential)

Location, remuneration and timeframe of the Commercial Manager position:

Home based with occasional travel to and from their site in Teesside.
£500.00 to £600.00 per day (outside IR35)
