About Steve Vick International

Can you tell us about Steve Vick International and the roles you were looking to recruit?

“Steve Vick International is traditionally a utility supplier to gas networks within the UK.

“Over the last 15 years, we’ve been expanding into the nuclear industry.

“Initially, it was more of an exploratory effort, but in the past six or seven years, this sector has become a more significant part of our business.

“As demand increased, we reached out to Astute to help us find a Project Manager – someone who could contribute to the company’s growth and effectively support our expansion.

What were some of the hiring challenges you faced with this role? 

It’s a niche market.

“The work we do is highly specialised and unique to our company.

“We needed someone with a strong mechanical engineering background who also had excellent client-facing skills and project management experience.

“Finding someone with that combination of skills was quite a challenge.”

“Already, he has implemented new ideas and control methods within our design and nuclear departments.

“His contributions have been working really well and have allowed me to focus more on business development, which was exactly what we wanted to achieve with this hire.
