Kelsey Nineham is a Recruitment Partner for the Power Generation sector, recruiting for Energy from Waste, Biomass, and CCGT/OCGT power stations.
For Astute’s Our People series, she spoke with Sam Bradshaw about her recent recruitment successes.
How did you get into recruitment?
I previously worked in an Estate Agency and was looking for a change.
A member of Astute approached me at the perfect time and I decided to take the leap.
It was a bit of a shock to the system leaving a job I knew like the back of my hand and joining an entirely new industry, but I like a challenge and the opportunity to push myself.
What’s your favourite thing about working as a Recruitment Partner at Astute?
Learning new things that I never even thought about before joining the power desk, such as how an Energy from Waste power plant works or even just where our power comes from.
Of course, building relationships with candidates and helping them find the perfect role is rewarding in itself as well.
What have you enjoyed most about your recent successes as a Power Recruiter?
Learning just how resilient I can be, and how this can pay off in the end.
Recruitment is a tough job, there’s no denying it, but the rewards are so worth it if you can push through the hard times.
What is the most exciting thing about your market?
The industry is constantly changing and expanding, and having an opportunity to keep up with the latest technologies and trends is really exciting.
It’s also great to work with clients who are working to make power generation more sustainable and working towards a cleaner future.
What advice would you give to those looking for a recruitment career or considering joining Astute?
Be prepared for a challenge, but join Astute knowing that the support and training you’ll receive is unparalleled and will set you up for a brilliant career.
Astute offers a great progression plan, which is completely in your hands. They also offer a range of great benefits and social events.
