Sam Bradshaw is Astute’s Head of People.
She spoke with Astute’s Head of Marketing, James Leslie, about why she loves working at Astute and advice she’d give people considering joining the business.
How did you get into recruitment?
I’d just returned from travelling in Asia and Australia and needed a job!
How did you transfer from recruitment into your current Head of People role?
I’d worked in agency recruitment for a few years before getting a role for an international retailer in Talent Acquisition. I then progressed into Learning and Development which moved into HR so I’ve done a bit of everything.
What is your favourite thing about working as Head of People at Astute?
The people! Everyone here supports each other at all levels. There is such a great team spirit.
What have you enjoyed most about your recent successes?
Growing my incredible team and watching them flourish in their new roles.
What is the most exciting thing about your job?
Every day is different. Having such a broad role covering internal recruitment, professional development and HR means that the days go fast!
What advice would you give someone who is looking to join Astute?
Do your research beforehand.
Recruitment isn’t for everyone but if you have resilience, confidence and want to succeed this is a great job to have.
