Melanie Noble is a Recruitment Partner on Astute’s Renewable Energy recruitment team.
For the latest in Our People profile series, she spoke with Astute’s Head of People, Sam Bradshaw, about her recruitment career and some of her recent successes.
How did you get into recruitment?
After more than 20 years in Retail Management and having my second child, I needed a career that could fit around my family life while challenging me to continue to grow and develop and still be me.
What’s your favourite thing about working as a Recruitment Partner at Astute?
Several things drew me to the company and sometimes the initial draw can turn out not to be all it seemed.
What I love about Astute is that what they say they offer, they truly do!
I get flexible time when its needed, I’m rewarded for my hard work, and the people really are amazing!
What have you enjoyed most about your recent successes as a Recruitment Partner?
The feeling of making someone’s career ambitions a reality.
In the wind sector, it’s a tricky barrier to break into but being able to support so many people land their dream job really adds to the job satisfaction.
What’s the most exciting thing about your market?
It is massive! The opportunity to expand my network is vast.
The Wind, Floating Wind and Subsea sector has so much happening currently, and will continue to grow with the demands for more Renewable Energy solutions.
The need for new talent is an exciting challenge that I love being part of!
What advice would you give to those looking for a recruitment career or considering joining Astute?
You have nothing to lose and everything to gain!
A great team of driven people who want each other to succeed and back it up with the support to achieve it.
Don’t get me wrong you need to be resilient and prepared for the hard work, but it’s so worth it when you get going.
